Well it all started back in late June of 1995 with an advert in the local rag asking "would you like to work abroad?"
It wasn't until the day before I was due to leave I phoned him back and asked if I needed a passport to go to France (he must of thought he'd employed a right spanner!
Anyway I got me one of those yearly passports (back in the good old days) and of I went with £15 quid to my name and four silk cut cigarettes, oh and I almost forgot a smile on my face the size of Bristol!!!!
I arrived at the campsite in France 4 days later at 08:30 in the morning seeing the Holiday reps living area full of empty beer and wine bottles from the night before.
Then falling out of there tents they introduced themselves all blurry eyed and partied out!
Well let me cut this short......
I got a job as a
Yes this glorious glamorous job working abroad as a BOG CLEANER!
Ok I have just realised I could be here all day with stories & embarrassing moments
of my six years spent working as a rep (Mmm I might write a book ;) you never know!
So let me cut this even shorter. Two years later I had worked my way up to a full time
position within the company, the following year I was supervisor and then I made
Area Manager.
One day this great free do as you please job somehow turned into a 12 Campsite
22 holiday reps and about 900 families to look after so I decided to come back to
sunny old England.
You can tell people you have worked as a rep and try to explain
what you have seen and done but unless they have been there and done it they will
never know what u did....
(hopefully you will)
P.S - Don't tell anyone about the bog cleaning!
